History

230 Pratt was founded by Jacob Roos in 1842 who started a brewery business. By 1892 Leonard Burgweger purchased the brewery and founded the Iroquois Brewery, which remained steady due to the transfer of business to William J Weigel. This sanctioned the Iroquois Brewery to be one of the largest and well known breweries in the world. After 79 years of business the Iroquois Brewery closed their doors (1971).

Today 230 Pratt is on the New York State historic registry and has been occupied by C&R Housing since 1986. Jabril Shareef is the owner of 230 Pratt and President of C&R Housing, who stands alongside Ellen Shareef; CEO of 230 Pratt Investment Opportunities.
